Within the European Urban Innovative Actions programme, the Energy Poverty Intelligence Unit (EPIU) project aims to establish ways to identify and act on fuel poverty. The project quantifies and qualifies hidden energy poverty in order to gain a better understanding of the problem and to determine which public interventions work best in which circumstances. Citizens will be more aware of the risks, negative impacts, available public services and potential actions that can be taken to reduce energy vulnerability in their homes, buildings and neighbourhoods.
